Achievements


  • Spent an amount of Rs.10 Crores allotted under MPLADS Scheme for various social welfare measures in the 7 Assembly segments associated with the Secunderabad Parliamentary Constituency.

  • Allotted an amount of Rs.70 Lakhs for procuring modern surgical equipments in Osmania, Gandhi, Niloufer and T.B Hospitals in the City.

  • Ambulance services were exclusively provided for the employees of the Secretariat.

  • Infrastructural facilities like Roads, Drainage were improved and pending works in the community halls were completed in the slum areas.

  • A fleet of 1000 ultra-modern air-conditioned buses were introduced in Hyderabad / Secunderabad at a cost of Rs.820 Crores after sustained deliberations with the Ministry of Urban Development.

  • Continued interactive efforts with Ministry of Railways have resulted in introduction of new Trains from Secunderabad. The Garib Rath from Secunderabad to Vizag is one such instance. The Railway stations at Nampally and Kachiguda were also modernized.

  • The Secunderabad Railway Station is being remodeled with world class facilities.

  • A1 status was accorded to Hyderabad City.

  • Rajiv Arogyasri, a health scheme was introduced wherein poor people were accorded expensive medical treatment in corporate hospitals free of cost. This is in contrast to the scheme during the earlier regime wherein the poor were made to pay user charges even in the government hospitals.

  • 18 Universities and several Institutions of repute like IIT, BITS and IIIT were established.

  • Huge infrastructure projects like outer-ring road corridor, P.V Narasimha Rao Express Highway connecting the International Airport and City, several flyovers were undertaken and are on the verge of successfully completion.

  • Several innovative schemes like loans at very nominal rates of interest, Rs.2 per kg of rice for all white card holders, Indiramma housing scheme aimed at providing affordable housing to poor were introduced as public welfare measures.

  • Historic acts like Right to Information Act, Public Welfare Schemes like National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme were introduced and implemented with a fair degree of success.

  • Opportunities in education were enhanced for minorities by providing free coaching and introducing scholarships to deserving poor meritorious students at all levels.
